About Adil Pirbhai
Hello, my fellow citizens. My name is Adil Pirbhai, and I am pleased to introduce myself as a candidate for O-day’min City Council. Thank you for taking a few minutes to read about me and my campaign.
I have lived in this community for over 30 years. By profession, I am an accountant, but my true passion has always been my community. This passion is why I am an active volunteer, dedicating my time to organizations like the Christmas Bureau, the Canadian Red Cross, and the Heritage Festival. I’ve also helped with fundraisers for various causes, including supporting New Orleans and helping children with cancer.
A Record of Engagement
I believe that effective leadership requires being informed, engaged, and unafraid to ask tough questions. I am the only candidate in this race who has consistently attended budget hearings at City Hall and other public forums to stay on top of the issues affecting our city.
This approach isn’t new for me. Many of you will remember when former Premier Ralph Klein introduced Bill 57 and Bill 11, which would have led to private healthcare. On his radio show, I asked him if he knew that these bills violated the Canada Health Act—a critical piece of legislation introduced by Monique Bégin under Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. It became clear that neither the Premier nor the Justice Minister at the time, Anne McLellan, was aware of the violation.

Standing Up for Our Values
Today, the fight to protect our public services and our unity continues. The Provincial Government is slashing our healthcare and education budgets with no regard for the future.
Our Provincial Government, led by Danielle Smith, is now proposing a referendum on the sovereignty of this beautiful province. We, as fellow citizens of Alberta, will not let Danielle Smith, Stockwell Day, and the federal conservatives tear this great country down. We will fight to keep our great country together. We have done it before, and together, we will ensure our beloved Canada remains strong and united.
My Commitment to O-day'min
Being level-headed and practical, I speak on issues of responsibility, and I assure you that I will work hard for our ever-growing and advancing city.
Edmonton is going through major changes and growth. As your councillor, I understand that pointed questions must be raised and tough decisions must be made to ensure our city and its downtown core continue to prosper.
I am ready to be the representative who will stand up and speak on the matters that will keep O-day’min and Edmonton flourishing.
