My Platform: Priorities for O-day'min & Edmonton
My commitment is to bring practical, responsible, and forward-thinking leadership to City Hall. Here are the key pillars of my platform.
Pillar 1: An Affordable and Well-Run City
My first priority is ensuring our city is managed responsibly, respects your tax dollars, and delivers the reliable services you depend on.
- Fiscal Responsibility & Affordability: Families are feeling the pinch. I will fight to hold the line on property taxes and bus fares. For too long, councils have raised taxes and fees while services were reduced. This trend must stop.
- Efficient Core Services: You deserve reliable, high-quality city services. My focus will be on a smarter, more dependable system for roadway repairs, efficient snow removal, and improving eco-centre accessibility.
- Responsible Development & Fiscal Oversight: We need leaders who will solve problems created by past planning decisions. Costly project failures, or “boondoggles,” must be a thing of the past. This includes major issues like those with the Metro Line LRT to NAIT—a project whose mismanagement led to the firing of City Manager Simon Farbrother – and the ongoing bridge construction problems. I will closely monitor council decisions to ensure taxpayer money is always well spent.
- Campaign Finance Reform: To ensure fairness, I will push to establish limitations on what candidates can spend on their campaigns. Elections should be about ideas, not who has the most money.
Pillar 2: A Thriving and Compassionate Community
A great city is defined by its quality of life and how we care for one another. My focus will be on building a vibrant, inclusive, and caring community.
- Smart Urban Growth: As our city grows, we must plan intelligently. We cannot accept endless suburban sprawl at the detriment of our downtown core. Smart growth means investing in and densifying the vibrant, established neighborhoods we already have.
- Housing for All: Every Edmontonian deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. I will push for a dedicated task force to address homelessness and will advocate for the provincial government to reintroduce rental tax credits to provide relief for tenants.
- Vibrant Arts & Culture: A great city has a soul. Arts, festivals, and cultural events bring us together. I will champion policies that support venues of all sizes and help our cultural organizations flourish.
Pillar 3: Accountable Leadership with a Strong Voice
My job is to represent you. I will be an accessible, vocal, and principled advocate for our community and our city.
- Restoring Edmonton’s Reputation: Our city’s international exposure often trails other major Canadian cities, proven by our failure to secure a host city spot for the FIFA World Cup. We must rethink how we sell Edmonton to the world.
- A Truly Independent Police Commission: To ensure public trust, the Edmonton Police Commission must be composed of fully independent citizens, not former police members, to hold the EPS to account without bias.
- Direct Accountability: I will hold regular town hall meetings to remain accessible and accountable to all residents.
- A Strong Voice for Edmonton: I will always stand up for O-day’min and all Edmontonians on critical intergovernmental issues, including challenging the proposed provincial referendum on sovereignty.
A Principled Stand on National & International Issues
While a councillor’s focus is local, we cannot ignore the broader issues that reflect our values.
- On National Unity: I believe in a strong, unified Canada and will oppose measures that threaten our national fabric. We need a federal government that stands up for all Canadian interests and is not weakened by backroom deals that give away powers without proper consultation.

We must address the humanitarian catastrophe in Palestine. A recent United Nations report confirms a famine, causing thousands of women and children to die from malnutrition as a direct result of the Israeli government’s actions.
However, Western nations and their leaders have failed to apply a consistent standard to these human rights violations. Canada’s current Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, and other prominent figures who were quick to condemn Russia have not held Israel to the same standard. There can be no double standards when human rights are being violated.
This inconsistency was evident at the European Union meeting in Denmark in August 2025. While the EU maintained a strong stance against Russia, its members could not agree on a unified condemnation of Israel for its role in the famine in Palestine.
